Course Curriculum

The MA Education (Innovation in Learning and Teaching) programme allows students to tailor their learning through a selection of specialised modules that enhance professional knowledge and practice. Core modules provide opportunities to develop expertise in curriculum design, digital competence, and organisational learning, supporting educators in creating innovative, effective, and inclusive learning environments. The Innovation in Curriculum Design module encourages students to explore the purpose, audience, and stakeholders involved in curriculum planning, fostering creative approaches to educational delivery. Developing Digital Competence focuses on using technology effectively for teaching and learning while addressing challenges related to institutional leadership and technology-enhanced education. Developing Learning in Organisations helps aspiring leaders and classroom practitioners critique and evaluate current teaching practices, assessment strategies, and learning theories to improve professional practice. Students may also choose modules with an international or early childhood focus, deepening their understanding of policy, pedagogy, and global perspectives. Optional modules in special educational needs, autism, dyslexia, child and adolescent mental health, and working with vulnerable groups allow students to develop targeted expertise that enhances their ability to support diverse learners. These modules combine theoretical study, reflective practice, and applied strategies, enabling students to address real-world educational challenges, lead change within their institutions, and promote improved learning outcomes across various contexts.
