Course Curriculum

The MSc Artificial Intelligence & Ethics is structured over three semesters to provide students with both technical expertise and a deep understanding of the ethical and societal dimensions of AI. In the first semester, students establish a strong foundation through modules in Fundamentals of Computation, Data, and Algorithms, Programming for Data Applications, AI and Data Ethics, and Theory and Applications of Data Analytics. These courses develop essential programming skills, introduce data science concepts, and provide an understanding of the ethical considerations inherent in AI development. The second semester builds on this foundation with advanced technical and ethical training through modules in Advanced Topics in Responsible Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing with Deep Learning. Students gain practical experience in applying AI techniques while considering responsible and socially conscious approaches to implementation. The final semester is dedicated to the Artificial Intelligence Dissertation Project, a substantial independent research project that integrates technical, analytical, and ethical learning, allowing students to tackle real-world AI challenges. Throughout the programme, students acquire competencies in Python programming, data analysis, machine learning, and AI system design, alongside critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and effective communication. Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in AI development, data science, technology consultancy, policy advisory, and other roles where technical proficiency and ethical awareness are essential.
