Course Curriculum

The MSc Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying programme combines core and optional courses to equip students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required for the construction and infrastructure sectors. In the first semester, mandatory courses cover advanced construction technology, strategic commercial management, and value and risk management, providing a solid foundation in construction processes, project planning, and decision-making strategies. Optional courses in sustainability, quantity surveying practice, urban economy, and real estate appraisal allow students to tailor their learning to specific interests and emerging industry demands. In the second semester, students focus on information and innovation technologies in construction practice, quantity surveying financial management, construction financial management, and people and organisation management in the built environment, enhancing their expertise in project budgeting, resource management, and team leadership. An optional integrated project in the final semester offers the opportunity to apply knowledge in a practical, real-world scenario, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
