Course Curriculum

The Quantity Surveying program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the technical, legal, and commercial aspects of the construction industry. In Year 1, students are introduced to the fundamental principles of basic technology and design, including materials and construction techniques. They also explore the legal and commercial aspects of quantity surveying, providing a solid foundation for the rest of the program.Year 2 builds on this foundation, focusing on core quantity surveying skills such as contractual and commercial knowledge, as well as key quantification and technology skills. These modules equip students with the practical tools needed for effective cost management and project planning in the construction industry.In Year 3, students gain valuable real-world experience through an industry placement, where they can apply their knowledge in a professional setting. This year also includes further development of estimating and technology skills, allowing students to refine their expertise and prepare for the demands of the workplace.Year 4 focuses on advanced topics such as project management and construction contracts, ensuring that students are well-prepared for leadership roles in the field. Elective options, including commercial management, dispute resolution, negotiation, and sustainability in the built environment, allow students to specialize in areas of personal interest and industry relevance. This program equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue successful careers in quantity surveying and construction management.
