Course Curriculum

The Master’s programme is built around three main components: Core, Flex, and Thesis. The Core part consists of ethics courses, mandatory track courses, profile-specific courses, and profile electives. When you join the programme, you select a track, each of which contains mandatory courses that provide a broad foundation within a particular field of expertise. Within your chosen track, you also select a profile in the first weeks of the academic year. Each profile comes with its own mandatory courses, allowing you to specialise in a specific subfield and develop a deeper academic focus.The Flex part of the programme offers more freedom, giving you the opportunity to design a study path that matches your interests and ambitions. It consists of elective courses and an applied component such as the Joint Interdisciplinary Project, the Technology Venture Development course, or a three-month internship at a company of your choice. Electives are divided into three categories: technical electives, which strengthen your expertise in specialised topics; professional and personal development electives, which build essential skills for your career; and free electives, which allow you to broaden your knowledge beyond your profile. Some electives can be chosen from a recommended list within your profile, while others can be selected from the wider range of available courses across the university. This flexibility ensures that you can tailor your programme to suit your academic and professional goals.The Thesis part of the programme marks the culmination of your studies. It consists of a literature review followed by your own research project, which may be completed individually or in a group. This phase allows you to integrate the knowledge and skills you have gained throughout the programme and apply them to a real-world research question, preparing you for a career in academia, industry, or beyond.
