Course Curriculum

The Master of Engineering in Chemical and Biological Engineering requires the successful completion of at least 30 credits of approved graduate-level coursework. Of these, at least 24 credits must be at the 500-level, with a minimum of 18 credits in the program area at the 500-level, which may include a project if required, up to a maximum of six credits. Students may take a maximum of six credits at the 300- or 400-level, and up to six credits of 500-level directed studies courses may count toward degree requirements, offering flexibility for independent study or specialized topics. The curriculum is fully coursework-based and does not require a thesis, focusing instead on advanced technical courses that develop professional expertise in chemical and biological engineering. Courses typically cover core topics in process engineering, transport phenomena, reaction engineering, and systems analysis, with additional electives and directed studies chosen to support individual career goals or technical interests.
