The Integrated Engineering (IGEN) curriculum is designed to provide a broad and interdisciplinary engineering education over four years, combining foundational courses with progressive design and technical applications. In the first year, students build a strong base in engineering principles through courses such as APSC 100 – Introduction to Engineering I, CHEM 154 – Chemistry for Engineering, MATH 100 – Differential Calculus with Applications to Physical Sciences and Engineering, and PHYS 157 – Introductory Physics for Engineers I, supplemented by PHYS 170 – Mechanics I. The second year introduces specialized subjects including APSC 278 – Engineering Materials, CHBE 241 – Material and Energy Balances, CIVL 215 – Fluid Mechanics I, ELEC 204 – Linear Circuits, and IGEN 230 – Introduction to Engineering Design, emphasizing hands-on application of theoretical knowledge. In the third year, students progress to intermediate and advanced technical courses such as CHBE 344 – Unit Operations I, ELEC 344 – Applied Electronics and Electromechanics, MECH 360 – Mechanics of Materials, MTRL 280 – Materials in Design, and IGEN 330 – Intermediate Engineering Design, integrating multidisciplinary concepts through design projects. The fourth year focuses on advanced topics and professional preparation, including APSC 450 – Professional Engineering Practice, CIVL 305 – Introduction to Environmental Engineering, IGEN 430 – Advanced Engineering Design Projects, MINE 482 – Maintenance Engineering, and MTRL 340 – Manufacturing in Materials Engineering. Across all years, the curriculum emphasizes design, problem-solving, and applied learning, preparing graduates for versatile careers in engineering and interdisciplinary problem-solving.
