Course Curriculum

The Esthetician program at Sault College offers a well-rounded curriculum that combines technical skills with practical experience and business knowledge. In the first semester, students develop essential communication skills through Workplace Communication and gain an introduction to the spa industry with Intro to Spa/Practicum. They learn core techniques in Hair Removal, Professional Nail Techniques, and Fundamentals of Skin Care, both practical and theoretical, alongside Makeup Artistry. Hands-on experience is a key component, with the Student Esthetician Clinic providing real-world practice. Advanced courses build on this foundation, including Advanced Skin Care Theory and Practical, Makeup Artistry and Advanced Trends, and Advanced Spa Techniques and Body Therapies. Students also gain valuable knowledge in Anatomy and Physiology, important for understanding treatments, and learn the business side of the industry through Salon and Spa Business courses. The program culminates with a Practicum, offering an immersive field experience to apply skills in a professional setting. General education courses in Global Citizenship and a student-selected elective further enrich the learning experience. This comprehensive curriculum prepares students to confidently enter the esthetics field with a strong blend of hands-on skills, theoretical knowledge, and business acumen, ready to succeed in a dynamic and evolving industry.
