Course Curriculum

The Social Sciences DCS program at LaSalle College Montréal offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with a deep understanding of social phenomena through a wide range of concentration courses. These include foundational subjects such as Academic Work: Tools and Methods, World Geography, History of the Modern World, and Introduction to Psychology, which provide essential frameworks for analyzing social realities. Quantitative and qualitative research methods are emphasized with courses like Quantitative Analysis in the Social Sciences, Qualitative Research Methods, and Applied Statistics, enabling students to design and conduct robust social research. The program also explores important societal themes through courses such as Global Economy: Resources and Development, Introduction to Political Science, Quebec Society: Diversity and Citizenship, and International Community and Global Issues, fostering awareness of local and global social dynamics. Additional courses in Social Psychology, Media and Democracy, Technology, Power and the Individual, and Perspectives on Montreal further develop critical thinking and cultural sensitivity. Mathematical skills are strengthened with Calculus I and II, as well as Linear Algebra, supporting analytical approaches to social questions.
