Course Curriculum

The Clinical Research graduate certificate program is delivered over three semesters with a flexible mix of online and in-person courses designed to prepare students for careers in clinical trial management and research. In Semester 1, students are introduced to foundational topics including Introduction to Clinical Research (CLRE 5000), ICH and Legislation Governing Clinical Research (CLRE 5001), Communications (CLRE 5002), Clinical Laboratory Procedures and Diagnostic Testing (CLRE 5003), Pharmacology (CLRE 5004), and Physiology with Pathophysiology (CLRE 5005). These courses are primarily available online, with some in-person options to enhance learning. Semester 2 focuses on advanced skills with courses such as Non-Drug Medical Products (CLRE 5500), Organization and Monitoring of Clinical Trials (CLRE 5501), Data Management and Biostatistics (CLRE 5502), Clinical Project Management (CLRE 5504), Clinical Documentation (CLRE 5505), and Professional Preparation (CLRE 5610), offered through a combination of online and in-person formats. In the final semester, students choose between a Field Experience in Clinical Research (CLRE 5600), offered in-person, or a Capstone project (CLRE 5620), providing practical application of their skills. This structure ensures a comprehensive education blending theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and professional readiness for the evolving clinical research industry.
