Course Curriculum

The Master of Physiotherapy program includes core units that provide comprehensive theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and clinical experience essential for advanced physiotherapy practice. Functional Anatomy for Physiotherapists (PHT60001) and Foundations of Physiotherapy Practice (PHT60002) establish foundational understanding of human anatomy and professional practice. Clinical specialty units such as Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (PHT60003), Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy (PHT60004), Neurological Physiotherapy (PHT70001), Sports, Exercise and Rehabilitation (PHT70002), and Chronic Disease, Health Promotion and Practice (PHT70005) develop expertise across diverse patient populations and clinical conditions. Lifespan Health and Wellbeing for Physiotherapy (PHT80002) and Integrated Physiotherapy Practice (PHT80001) focus on holistic care and managing complex cases.Research and Evidence-Based Practice units A and B (PHT70003, PHT80004) equip students with skills to critically appraise literature, conduct research, and apply evidence to clinical decision-making. Leadership and Management for Health Professionals (PHT70004) prepares students for leadership roles within healthcare teams. Practical experience is emphasised through extensive clinical placements in Physiotherapy Clinical Practice A–D (PHT60015, PHT70015, PHT80015, PHT80025), each comprising 160 hours of supervised practice, allowing students to apply knowledge in real-world settings. Collectively, these units prepare graduates to work competently and confidently in clinical, leadership, and research roles, positioning them for high-level management and advanced physiotherapy practice across healthcare environments.
