The Master of Human Resource Management program (Plan MC263, including MC263EXE and MC263OX) is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in HR management, preparing them for strategic and leadership roles in organizations. In the first year, students complete a series of compulsory onboarding modules to build a strong foundation in HR principles and professional practices. Core courses include Key Concepts in Human Resource Management, Professional Human Resource Management Practices, People and Organisations, and Employment Law, each worth 12 credit points. These courses establish a solid understanding of organizational behavior, legal frameworks, and HR fundamentals. In addition, students complete four further courses—Strategic Human Resource Development, Foundations of People Analytics, Global Human Resource Management, and Issues in Diversity—providing deeper insights into workforce development, global HR practices, data-driven decision-making, and diversity management.In the second year, students focus on research, analytics, and contemporary strategic HR issues. They complete three core courses: Business Research Design, Predictive Human Resource Analytics, and Contemporary Issues in Strategic Human Resource Management. These courses develop advanced analytical skills, research capabilities, and strategic thinking needed to manage and interpret complex workforce data and address modern HR challenges. Students also select one University Postgraduate Elective and four additional courses from the Business and Law options, including choices such as Business Analytics, Managing Across Cultures, Sustainable International Business Futures, Leadership and Management, Digital Entrepreneurship, Leadership Issues in International Management, Design Thinking for Business, and Visualising and Communicating Insights in Business. This structure allows students to tailor their learning to professional interests while gaining interdisciplinary skills in leadership, innovation, and business analytics. Overall, the program equips graduates with the expertise required to lead HR functions, implement strategic initiatives, and contribute effectively to organizational success in diverse and global business environments.
