The Bachelor of Pharmacy degree structure for students commencing in Trimester 2, 2025, requires the successful completion of 310 credit points through a series of core courses and listed electives. This structured program spans foundational sciences, clinical pharmacy practice, pharmacotherapeutics, and professional placements, gradually building the knowledge and skills required for a professional career in pharmacy.In the early stages, students complete key foundation subjects including Chemistry of Biological Systems I and II, Cells, Tissues, and Regulation, and Anatomy and Physiology Systems I and II. These are supported by pharmacy-focused subjects such as Medicines – Discovery to Practice I, Foundations of Health Sciences, and Pharmacy Practice I. Additional courses such as Genes and Disease and Primary Healthcare in Australia provide a broader health sciences context.As students progress, they move into more pharmacy-specific and advanced clinical content. Courses include Pharmacy Practice II and III, Pharmacology, Organic Chemistry, Research Methods and Statistics, and Specialised Delivery Systems I. The program integrates a series of multi-credit pharmacotherapeutics courses, beginning with Integrated Pharmacotherapeutics I and continuing through to V. These units cover the safe and effective use of medicines, clinical decision-making, and patient-centered care.Clinical and professional practice is a major feature of the degree, including structured placements in healthcare settings through the Pharmacy Practice and Placement courses.
