Course Curriculum

The Masters of Disability Practice and Leadership at Flinders University is designed to equip senior practitioners and managers with advanced knowledge and leadership skills to drive positive change in the disability sector. The program focuses on enhancing professional capabilities across policy, practice, and workforce development, preparing graduates to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities. The program is particularly relevant in the context of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which continues to shape service delivery and management across Australia.The program is offered in two pathways. The 1.5-year pathway allows students to specialise in disability practice, policy, and leadership within government and non-government organisations. The 2-year pathway provides a broader focus, enabling students to apply their expertise across a wide range of community sectors. Both pathways offer flexible study options, including specialisations in policy, trauma-responsive practice, coursework, and research, allowing students to align their learning with career goals and professional interests.Graduates gain advanced skills in leadership, program management, policy development, and evidence-based practice. They are prepared to take on senior roles that influence organisational strategy, lead teams, manage programs, and implement change initiatives within the disability sector.
