This initial year equips students with the analytical, legal, and spatial knowledge needed to understand and address complex planning challenges. In the second year, the program introduces more applied and data-driven skills. Students engage with topics such as social transformation, social sciences data, location intelligence, urban planning project, sustainable regional development, and population dynamics. Work placements and three option topics provide hands-on experience and the flexibility to tailor studies to individual interests. This year emphasizes real-world applications, preparing students to assess urban and regional environments critically and develop practical solutions. The third year focuses on advanced planning, strategic thinking, and professional practice. Core topics include smart, liveable and resilient cities, environmental impact, Indigenous environmental management, work placement 2, strategic planning, regional planning project, and climate change, along with four option topics.
