The degree equips students with a solid foundation in plant physiology, molecular biology, and ecology while emphasising hands-on learning with a variety of plant species, including oceanic algae, crops, and native flora.In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge in Plant Science, an introduction to Chemistry, Biostatistics, and Biodiversity and Conservation. These courses provide essential laboratory and analytical skills while introducing practical approaches to studying plants and their environments. The first year establishes a strong basis for advanced scientific study and research techniques.The second year builds on this foundation by introducing Biodiversity and Ecology, Biochemistry, and Innovation in STEM, alongside elective subjects. Students gain a deeper understanding of ecological interactions, plant-environment relationships, and experimental methods. This year also emphasises the development of problem-solving, analytical, and research skills, preparing students for practical and theoretical challenges in plant science.The third and final year focuses on advanced topics, including Plant System Functions, the Impacts of Global Climate Change, Restoration Ecology, and Molecular Biology.
