This foundational year emphasizes both theoretical learning and practical application, ensuring students are well-prepared for advanced study.In the second year, students deepen their knowledge of ecology, genetics, and biodiversity. Core courses include Biodiversity and Conservation, Diversity of Life, Genetics and Evolution, Ecology, and Biostatistics 2, while one elective topic provides flexibility to explore interdisciplinary interests. This stage of the program emphasizes scientific investigation, data analysis, and the development of practical skills for monitoring and managing ecosystems. Students learn to assess environmental impacts, evaluate conservation strategies, and apply quantitative methods to real-world challenges.The third year focuses on advanced topics and professional practice. Students study Human Impacts and Biodiversity, Restoration Ecology, Caring as Country: Indigenous Environmental Management, Integrative Physiology of Animals and Plants, Conservation and Ecological Genetics, and Global Climate Change. Two option topics, including a six-week industry placement, provide opportunities for hands-on experience in professional settings. This year combines fieldwork, laboratory research, and project-based learning to develop practical skills, critical thinking, and professional expertise in biodiversity management and conservation.By the end of the program, graduates are equipped with a strong scientific foundation, practical experience, and problem-solving abilities, ready to pursue careers in conservation management, environmental consultancy, wildlife protection, ecological research, and related fields.
