Course Curriculum

The Masters by Research program involves candidates working closely with a Principal Supervisor, appointed with approval from the Research Higher Degrees Sub Committee and the School. Designed to be completed in 1.5 to 2 years of full-time study, the degree is awarded based on an externally examined thesis of around 40,000 words. Throughout the course, students develop a solid foundation of knowledge and skills that enable them to make original contributions to their field. They learn to conduct independent research, analyze data critically, and communicate their findings effectively to diverse audiences. The program also emphasizes intellectual and professional integrity, ensuring graduates adhere to ethical research practices. In addition to subject-specific expertise, candidates acquire a broad set of transferable skills valuable for future research roles and employment opportunities. These include critical thinking, problem-solving, project management, and effective communication, preparing graduates for diverse academic and professional pathways.
