Semester two builds on this by focusing on child development, health education, and the integration of numeracy with digital tools.In the second year, students delve deeper into literacy and behavior management, exploring curriculum approaches and environmental education for young children. Courses like Guiding Behaviour and Science and Environmental Education in Early Childhood emphasize classroom strategies and environmental awareness. The second semester continues to develop students’ practical knowledge with a focus on mathematics, child wellbeing, and professional readiness through the Transition to the Profession 1 unit.Year three expands students' understanding of curriculum design, reporting, and inclusive practices. Courses such as Nature Pedagogy, Curriculum Assessment and Reporting, and Early Childhood Language and Literacies support a diverse and holistic teaching approach. The second semester incorporates trauma-informed practices, Indigenous education, and science teaching, further preparing students for the complexities of modern classrooms.The final year emphasizes professional development and leadership. Semester one includes Humanities Education, Educational Leadership, and Teacher as Researcher, fostering critical thinking and professional responsibility. In the final semester, students complete their Professional Portfolio and continue their transition into the teaching profession. Key topics include differentiation, arts education, and school-readiness, ensuring graduates are well-equipped to meet the needs of a wide range of learners. Across the course, students complete 120 days of supervised placement, gaining real-world experience in early childhood and primary classrooms.
