This three-year full-time mechanical engineering degree program combines foundational knowledge, specialized training, industrial experience, and a final-year capstone project to produce job-ready graduates for the modern engineering industry. The structure includes core engineering units shared across disciplines, sub-discipline-specific mechanical stream units, hands-on workshops, and real-world industrial exposure. Students complete their coursework over two semesters per year, taking nine units annually—five in the first semester and four in the second—with breaks scheduled mid-semester and between terms to support learning continuity.In the first year, students develop a solid engineering foundation through core subjects such as Engineering Mathematics, Physics and Materials, Electrical Circuit Theory, Engineering Drawing and CAD, and Ethics and Professional Practice. They also learn Engineering Programming, Engineering Statics, and Fluid Mechanics, which prepare them for the mechanical-specific units ahead.The second year deepens technical proficiency with mechanical stream subjects like Fluid Machines, Thermodynamics, Machine Dynamics, Manufacturing Processes, and Mechanical Design. It also introduces applied engineering concepts like Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Heat and Mass Transfer, and Machine Condition Monitoring, alongside Engineering Management to foster leadership skills.In the final year, students engage with advanced systems through courses on Plant Layout, Automation, Control Systems, and Computer-Aided Technologies. They also complete two electives from a diverse list, including Renewable Energy, HVAC Systems, Engineering Mathematics 3, and AI and Data Analytics. The capstone project and required industrial experience consolidate their theoretical and practical learning, providing a bridge to the workplace.The program is further supported by four non-credit but mandatory hands-on workshop units to ensure practical competency. By the end of the course, graduates are equipped with critical engineering skills and adaptable expertise applicable across various industries including energy, manufacturing, automation, and sustainability sectors.
