The Master’s in Human Resource Management is structured to develop students into business-driven HR professionals with advanced expertise in people management. The program spans two years and is comprised of 12 units, each worth 20 credit points, for a total of 240 credit points. The coursework is designed to progressively build knowledge and practical skills across key areas of human resource management and organisational leadership.In Year 1, Semester 1, students are introduced to foundational concepts through core units such as Managing People and Organisations, HRM Fundamentals, and Managing Employment Relations. These units provide a solid base in organisational behaviour, HR theory, and employment law. Semester 2 focuses on practical HR processes with units including Acquiring and Managing Talent and Managing and Rewarding Employee Performance. Students also choose one of three elective options: Project Management, Health, Safety and Workplace Environment, or Management Practicum, allowing for skill development in a preferred area of practice.Year 2 shifts towards more advanced and strategic aspects of HR. Semester 1 includes Healthy Work and Wellbeing, Diversity and Inclusion, and People Analytics—units that emphasize evidence-based HRM, workforce wellbeing, and inclusive practices. In the final semester, students explore the alignment of HR with business goals through Connecting Strategy and HRM, examine emerging trends in Current Issues in Human Resource Management, and gain expertise in leading organisational transformation in Managing Change.Throughout the program, students develop key competencies in communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, all essential for success in contemporary HR roles. The structure ensures a balance between theoretical knowledge and applied learning, preparing graduates to confidently address complex people management challenges and contribute strategically to organisational success across various industries.
