Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Aviation course provides a comprehensive and technically focused education for students pursuing careers in the aviation industry. Designed to equip graduates with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the program covers key areas essential to modern aviation. Students complete 20 core units and either a 4-unit minor or four elective units to tailor their studies to their career interests.In the first year, students are introduced to the fundamentals of flight, aviation meteorology, physics, and basic engineering principles. Courses like Aviation Operations and Practice and Human Factors in Aviation establish a solid foundation in operational and safety aspects of the industry. Those with strong backgrounds in physics and mathematics may replace introductory units with more advanced electives.In the second year, the curriculum deepens with subjects such as Aircraft Performance, Aviation Legislation, Air Navigation, and Flight Operations. These units build a robust understanding of the regulatory, performance, and navigational components that are critical to aviation safety and efficiency. Ethics and innovation are also introduced to prepare students for professional decision-making in technical environments.By the third year, students engage in advanced topics such as Aircraft Propulsion, Advanced Aerodynamics, Engineering Management, and Flight Planning. The final semesters focus on industry-relevant areas like Crew Resource Management and Trends in Aviation Technologies, ensuring that students graduate with an awareness of current and emerging challenges and solutions in the field.Throughout the program, students also develop valuable transferable skills including communication, problem-solving, and teamwork, while gaining exposure to real-world scenarios. The degree is structured to prepare graduates for a wide range of roles, including aviation operations, airline management, safety and regulatory positions, and technical consulting within the global aviation sector.
