The Diploma of Information Technology is structured to provide students with a strong mix of core and elective units, offering both foundational knowledge and the opportunity to specialise in key areas of IT. The program includes six core units that develop essential skills across team leadership, ethical ICT practices, cyber security, conceptual thinking, strategic alignment of ICT needs, and client problem-solving. These units include BSBXTW401, which focuses on leading and facilitating a team; ICTICT532, which ensures students understand and apply intellectual property, ethics, and privacy policies in ICT environments; and BSBXCS402, which promotes cyber security awareness and best practices in the workplace. Additional core units like BSBCRT512 and ICTICT517 encourage strategic thinking and innovation, while ICTSAS527 helps learners manage complex client issues effectively.Beyond the core, the course offers 14 elective units, allowing students to explore specialised areas and develop practical, job-ready skills. These electives include units like ICTICT523, which teaches data gathering to define business requirements, and ICTSAD509, focused on producing ICT feasibility reports. Website development is covered through ICTWEB513, ICTWEB514, and ICTWEB518, which together build competence in creating dynamic websites and using extensible markup language. Students also explore data modelling through ICTSAD501 and ICTSAD502, along with system design via ICTNWK548. For those interested in cyber security and analysis, ICTCYS407 and ICTPRG548 develop expertise in threat data interpretation and object-oriented programming. Networking and infrastructure skills are enhanced through ICTNWK560, while ICTPMG505 trains students in project management within ICT contexts. Additionally, BSBSUS511 introduces sustainability practices in the workplace.
