Discover how each program is uniquely designed to inspire learning

To complete the Bachelor of Film, Television and Animation, students must pass 24 credit points. This includes the compulsory zero-credit unit Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin in the first study period. Students are required to complete 3 credit points of thematic core units and 3 credit points of an employability sequence. For specialization, students can choose either two majors worth 8 credit points each, with at least one major from the Film, Television and Animation disciplines, or one major in Film, Television and Animation (8 credit points) combined with one minor (4 credit points). The remaining credit points can be made up of an additional minor, open elective units, or a combination of both. Students must also adhere to a maximum of 10 credit points at level 1 and a minimum of 6 credit points at level 3. Most units are valued at one credit point each. Full-time students typically study four credit points per trimester, usually completing two trimesters per year. This structure offers flexibility for students to tailor their degree according to their interests while ensuring a strong foundation in core skills and employability, preparing them for diverse careers in the screen media and creative industries.
