Charles Sturt University's Bachelor of Accounting is a comprehensive degree designed to prepare students for dynamic careers in the accounting profession. The course structure includes 152 credit points, comprising 144 core credits and 8 employability skills credits. Students gain strong foundations in financial and management accounting, auditing, tax law, business economics, and financial management. Core subjects such as Accounting and Financial Literacy, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Risk-Based Audit and Assurance, and Accounting Standards Interpretation ensure students are equipped with both technical knowledge and practical insights. Subjects like Accounting in a Global Environment and Developments in Ethics, Governance and Accounting Thought also develop a global and ethical perspective on accounting practices.In addition to technical skills, students complete an employability skills component that includes the subject Contemporary Employability and Learning, paired with a short two-credit subject that focuses on either resilience, technology, project management, or data analysis—important soft skills for the modern workplace.
