Course Curriculum

To successfully complete the Master of Business Administration (Professional Practice), a candidate must complete a total of 160 credit points. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless otherwise stated. The course structure consists of eleven compulsory core units and four specialist elective units, offering students both foundational business knowledge and the opportunity to specialise in an area aligned with their professional interests.The core units, worth 120 credit points in total, cover essential aspects of modern business leadership and management. These include Business Analytics, Business Research Skills, Economics of Sustainability, Finance and Investment for the Executive, Organisational Change and Development, Strategic Management, and Marketing for Managers. Students will also undertake an Applied Business Project (Capstone) to integrate their learning into a practical, real-world business scenario. The course further includes professional practice units—Business Skills and Professional Communication, Professional Practice 1, and Professional Practice 2—allowing students to gain valuable workplace experience and apply theoretical knowledge to professional settings.The remaining 40 credit points are completed through specialist elective units. Students may focus on a single discipline or combine electives across different fields. Options include Business, Accounting and Law, Indigenous Engagement and Policy Development, Emergency and Disaster Management, Public Health and Health Research, and Information Technology. This flexibility enables students to tailor their learning to their career goals and interests.Through this structure, the program ensures a balance of theoretical knowledge, research skills, and hands-on experience, preparing graduates to become effective leaders capable of managing complex business environments and driving sustainable organisational success.
