The Bachelor of Psychological Science (Graduate Entry) consists of 80 credit points and provides students with the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of key areas in psychology. The course structure includes eight core units, each valued at 10 credit points, that cover a broad range of topics essential for a comprehensive grasp of human behaviour and mental processes. These core units include developmental psychology, research design, personality theory, learning and memory, motivation and emotion, abnormal psychology, and applied psychology in health and community contexts. Together, they equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills relevant to the study and application of psychology.Through units such as Developmental Psychology Across the Lifespan, students explore the psychological changes that occur throughout human development. Courses like Research Design and Analysis and Advanced Research Design and Analysis provide a strong foundation in scientific inquiry, statistical methods, and evidence-based reasoning—skills crucial for conducting and interpreting psychological research. Theories of Individual Difference and Personality and Motivation and Emotion examine the underlying factors that influence human behaviour, while Learning and Memory focuses on how individuals acquire and retain information. Abnormal Psychology offers insights into mental disorders, their symptoms, and approaches to treatment, and Applied Community and Health Psychology explores how psychological principles can improve health outcomes and community wellbeing. This carefully structured curriculum prepares graduates to apply psychological knowledge in diverse contexts and serves as a pathway to further study. Students who successfully complete the 80-credit program may become eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours), which is the next step toward registration as a psychologist in Australia. The course follows the Higher Education Course Rules (Award Requirements) outlined in the Units and Courses Policy.
