The Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Development at CQUniversity consists of four units, totaling 24 credits, allowing students to select electives that align with their interests and career goals. Students choose four units from a range of options, each focusing on key aspects of sustainability and related fields.Elective units include Rethinking Waste (SCIE28001), which explores innovative approaches to waste management, and Water Resource Management (SCIE28002), focusing on the sustainable use and protection of water resources. Sustainability Issues and Solutions (SCIE28003) examines contemporary environmental challenges and strategies to address them, while First Nations Perspectives in Sustainability (SCIE29002) provides insight into Indigenous knowledge systems and their application to sustainable practices.Additional electives such as Foundations of Emergency and Disaster Management (DSMG28001) and Research for Emergency and Disaster Management (DSMG20003) offer perspectives on disaster risk reduction and resilience, linking sustainability to broader community and environmental planning. Innovation and Sustainable Business Development (MGMT20132) focuses on sustainable practices in business contexts, while Systems Thinking in Public Health (PBHL20002) connects sustainability principles to health systems and community wellbeing. Project Management Concepts (PPMP20007) equips students with practical skills to plan and implement sustainability initiatives effectively.By selecting four of these units, students tailor their learning to their interests and professional goals, developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills applicable to sustainability-focused roles.
