Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Music at CQUniversity requires the completion of 24 units, totaling 144 credits, structured to provide both a strong foundation in music and opportunities for specialization. The core structure of the course consists of 12 units that develop technical, theoretical, and practical expertise essential for a professional career in the music industry. These include key subjects such as Language of Modern Music 1 through 6, which progressively build theoretical knowledge and musicianship, Music Styles and Analysis 1 and 2, and Principal Music Studios 1 and 2, where students refine their instrumental or vocal skills through focused training. In addition, Production Fundamentals 1 and 2 introduce students to the essential aspects of music production, equipping them with the technical knowledge to create and manipulate sound in professional settings.Beyond the 12 core units, students are required to complete three four-unit minors, allowing them to tailor their studies to suit their individual strengths and career goals. These minors may include areas such as performance, ensemble training, music technology, musicology, or music pedagogy.
