The Bachelor of Ministry and Theology (BMinTh) requires the successful completion of 32 units, totalling 192 credit points, normally undertaken across eight semesters of full-time study or the equivalent part-time. Students complete four units per semester, and while early years of study follow a structured plan, the units in Years 3 and 4 are offered on a rotational calendar, making consultation with the Course Convenor highly advisable to ensure correct sequencing and availability. It is also important to note that units chosen from other Schools may not always be available in both on-campus and online study modes, so planning is key.The program is structured to provide a solid balance between core theological learning, biblical studies, and practical ministry training. All students complete core units that include two units in Biblical Languages, one unit in Seventh-day Adventist History and Heritage, and one unit in Health and Wellbeing. These courses are designed to ground students in essential areas of denominational heritage, personal and community health, and the original languages of Scripture.Within the discipline units, students study eight units in Biblical Studies, eight to ten units in Church Ministry, and eight units in Theology. This ensures that graduates gain both deep knowledge of biblical texts and theology, alongside practical skills required for church leadership, preaching, pastoral care, and ministry in various contexts. An optional Chaplaincy major, which counts as a fourth major, is available for students who wish to expand their skills into specialized ministry settings such as hospitals, schools, or community organizations. In addition, students not pursuing chaplaincy complete two elective units from any undergraduate program, provided prerequisites are met. This allows for some flexibility and the opportunity to broaden their academic experience beyond ministry and theology. Chaplaincy major students, however, are not required to take electives.
