Course Curriculum

Discover how each program is uniquely designed to inspire learning

The Master of Psychology (Clinical) follows a structured two-year full-time progression beginning in Year 1 Semester 1, where students complete four foundational units: Professional Practice in Psychology, Therapeutic Skills, Psychological Assessment, and Practicum Skills, each worth 10 credit points. In Semester 2, students move into the clinical stream with Adult Clinical Psychology and Child Clinical Psychology, both requiring earlier professional practice and assessment units as prerequisites. This semester also includes Practicum A, the first supervised placement, and a unit in Evidence Based Practice for Psychologists. Year 2 builds on this clinical foundation, beginning in Semester 1 with Clinical Health Psychology and Psychopharmacology, Advanced Psychotherapeutic Interventions, Practicum B, and the first research thesis unit. In Semester 2, students complete Reflective Practice and Radical Self-care, Practicum C, and the second thesis component, culminating in a 20-credit research project. All units are delivered on campus, and prerequisites must be met before progression into higher-level clinical, practicum, and thesis units, ensuring a coherent, developmental pathway toward registration as a psychologist and preparation for endorsement in clinical psychology.
