Course Curriculum

The Master of Professional Accounting is a two-year full-time postgraduate program designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills for professional accounting and management roles. In the first year, students build a strong foundation with core accounting units including Accounting for Decision Making, Managerial Economics in a Global Environment, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Managerial Accounting, Commercial and Corporations Law, and Data Analysis and Interpretation. Elective or stream units allow students to tailor the degree to their interests, with options such as business, occupational health and safety, information technology, and other ACU postgraduate units.In the second year, the program advances to specialized accounting and corporate units, including Accounting for Corporate Structures, Mastering Accounting Information Systems, Corporate Governance and Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Auditing and Assurance Services, and Taxation Law. Prerequisites ensure students build knowledge sequentially, with each unit preparing them for advanced study. Additional electives and stream units offer further customization, covering topics in management, business, IT, and OHSE, allowing students to develop both technical expertise and leadership skills.Throughout the program, students gain practical and analytical capabilities in accounting, finance, law, governance, and information systems, alongside competencies in data analysis, strategic decision-making, and corporate management. The curriculum emphasizes professional readiness, ethical practice, and adaptability to technological and industry changes, positioning graduates to excel in a dynamic accounting and business environment.
