Course Curriculum

The Master of Information Technology program provides a comprehensive pathway to advanced knowledge and practical skills in the digital and technology sectors. Commencing in Semester 1, the first year focuses on foundational and skill-building units. Students begin with Introduction to Data Science with Python and Programming Fundamentals, alongside core IT skills in Cyber Security Concepts and Modern Information Technology Infrastructure. In Semester 2, students progress to advanced topics such as Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, Advanced Programming Principles, Computer Networks, and Modern Database Management, building a strong technical foundation and preparing for more complex applications.In the second year, students move into specialised and applied areas. Semester 1 includes Responsive Application Development, Data Analytics and Visualisation, and the first part of the IT Masters Project, emphasizing project management. Business electives allow students to integrate management and strategic insights with their technical expertise. Semester 2 focuses on cutting-edge topics such as Deep Learning and Emerging AI, Network Security and Applications, Data Mining Techniques and Applications, and the second part of the IT Masters Project, which involves software engineering and implementation of advanced projects. Each unit is structured with prerequisites to ensure students develop the necessary skills before progressing to more complex topics.Throughout the course, students gain hands-on experience with contemporary programming languages, software development, data science, cyber security, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The program also integrates Microsoft certifications and aligns with industry standards, embedding ethical, legal, and social considerations alongside technical competence.
